The Season is Upon Us!
The Northeast Texas Kayak Bass Fishing League (NETXKBL) is gearing up for an action packed 2023 season!
Beginning with Lake Welsh, a warm-water power plant lake located in the ‘triangle’ between Mt. Pleasant, Pittsburg and Daingerfield, TX, anglers will take on this lake known for it’s warm water winter fishing.
Welsh often produces high numbers of small and medium fish with the occasional giant! The near year-round warm water from the powerplant discharge leads to multiple bass spawns per year as well as an almost constant abundance of green submerged vegetation.
Fish in Welsh can be super aggressive, but weeding through the dinks to the true keepers takes patience and a little bit of lake knowledge. It’s easy to go out on Welsh and catch 50 or more bass in a day, but the true challenge is catching the giant fish.
NETXKBL is a friendly atmosphere with amateur weekend anglers to pro anglers participating. Club leadership is very responsive and patient with all manner of inquiry.
